Ad Monetization

Your storefront already has the traffic. Now it can get paid for it.

Buddy runs the Surfside and Jane ad-network integrations directly on your storefront. Brands pay to place ads on the pages your shoppers already browse, and that revenue comes back to you — a second line on top of product sales, from visits you're already earning.

    The mechanism

Ads that pay you, not the other way around.

This is the reverse of an advertising budget. Brands buy placement through Surfside and Jane — banners, recommended-product spots, sponsored slots — and those placements run on your site. The spend is theirs; the audience is yours; the revenue comes back to you.

    • Brands pay the network to reach shoppers on your storefront.
    • Placements run in defined slots on pages you already have.
    • Revenue for those impressions flows back to the retailer.
    • No new audience to build — it monetizes the traffic you already have.

    No integration project

Built into the storefront you already run.

There's no ad-server build, no tag manager archaeology, and no second vendor to onboard. The Surfside and Jane integrations are part of the platform, so the placements live inside the same site, the same layout system, and the same dashboard as the rest of your storefront.

    • Connected at the platform level — nothing to stand up yourself.
    • Placements sit inside your existing page layouts, not on top of them.
    • You choose which slots are active and where they appear.
    • Managed from the same dashboard as your menu, email, and screens.

    Two ways to get paid

Works alongside your own sponsored placements.

Network ads bring outside demand into your storefront. Sponsored custom carousels let you sell that visibility directly — featuring a brand natively on your own menu, on your terms. They're the same idea from two directions: brands want visibility, and the attention your storefront has is worth something.

    Network ads

Surfside and Jane bring brand advertisers to your existing slots. You enable the placements; the network fills them and handles the payout relationship.

Best for: earning from traffic without selling anything yourself.

    Sponsored custom carousels

A native placement you control end to end — feature a specific brand's products prominently on your storefront, filled from live inventory, approved by you.

Revenue that doesn't cost you the experience.

Monetization only works if shoppers still want to shop. Placements are part of the page, not something pasted over it.

    FAQ

    Questions about ad monetization.

Do I need to set anything up myself?

No ad-server project on your end. The Surfside and Jane integrations run on the storefront Buddy already builds for you, so enabling ad placements is a configuration step rather than a development effort.

    How do I get paid?

Brands buy placement through the ad networks, and the revenue for the impressions served on your storefront flows back to you through that network's payout process. Terms and timing come from the network relationship, not from Buddy.

Does this slow down my site or hurt the shopper experience?

Placements live in defined slots inside the storefront layout — a banner position, a recommended-product spot — rather than being pasted in as pop-ups or interstitials. They render as part of the page you already designed, so browsing and checkout behave the same way.

Can I control what ads show?

Yes. You decide which placements are active and where they appear on your site, and the network relationship governs what can run in them. Nothing is forced onto a page you didn't turn on.

Is this different from featuring a brand myself?

It's the complement to it. Network ads bring outside demand to your existing slots, while sponsored custom carousels let you feature a specific brand natively on your own menu. Most retailers run both.
